Demolished Conservation

Conservation of a building in old Jaffa, Israel, from 1935.
This project was part of a 'Conservation' course which discusses the term of "Arab Modernism".
In order to preserve the character of the building and to display on its facade the ever-changing density as a symbol of the changes undergoing in the city, a new floor level was added to the building without exceeding its "facade frame", the number of the original apartments was doubled and new openings were created on the main front facade.
